Choose better.
Aesthetics, medicine, skin, hormones, wellness and regenerative care come with a lot of opinions—and an impressive amount of nonsense.
This is where we answer the questions patients actually ask us and explain what matters before you spend money, start treatment or believe something you saw on TikTok.

“Can I buy just half a syringe of filler?”
You can certainly ask. But the more important question is: where is that half syringe coming from?
Dermal filler is supplied by the manufacturer in sterile, prefilled syringes. Some products may be manufactured in smaller-volume presentations, but a clinic advertising “half a syringe” is not automatically using a factory-sealed half-size product.
“Is this a manufacturer-sealed syringe in that volume, or are you splitting product from a larger syringe?”
The questions worth asking.
These are quick answers now and the foundation for our growing Learn library. As full articles are published, each topic can become its own searchable resource.
Can I buy half a syringe of filler?
Smaller does not automatically mean safer, cheaper or smarter. Know whether the product is manufacturer-sealed before you buy it.
How many units of tox do I actually need?
Enough to treat the muscle pattern—not enough to win an imaginary contest for fewest units.
Filler vs. Sculptra vs. Radiesse: what's the difference?
One replaces volume. Others can stimulate your own collagen. Sometimes we use both strategies.
Is one microneedling treatment enough?
One is a treat. A series is treatment. Collagen remodeling likes repetition.
If my face doesn't peel, did the chemical peel work?
Yes. Visible flaking is not a scorecard.
Does dermaplaning make facial hair grow back thicker?
No. Cutting hair at the surface does not change the follicle underneath it.
Can PRP keep me from needing a joint replacement?
Sometimes it can delay surgery substantially—and some people never decide they need surgery at all.
PRP, plasma, A2M or rooster-comb injections—which is which?
They all go into the joint, but they are not doing the same job.
When should I start treating thinning hair?
Earlier than most people do.
Do I really need an IV, or should I just drink water?
Sometimes water is absolutely the answer. Sometimes an IV is useful because drinking another gallon is not solving the problem.
Why doesn't one red-light session do much?
Because photobiomodulation is a consistency treatment.
Do I actually need supplements?
Maybe. But “everyone needs this stack” is usually where wellness starts getting silly.
Is hormone therapy really as scary as we were once told?
The modern answer is much more nuanced than “hormones are dangerous.”
Why does strength training matter during weight loss?
Because losing weight and losing only fat are not the same thing.
Why did my weight loss suddenly stop?
A plateau does not automatically mean the medication stopped working.
Back to school starts with sleep—not another supplement.
Sleep has enormous effects on attention, mood, recovery and immune function.
What should kids actually eat to stay healthier during school?
Start with boring fundamentals: enough food, protein, fruits, vegetables and a routine they can realistically follow.
Should everyone take vitamins for back-to-school season?
Not automatically.
Luscious or HUSH—which membership should I choose?
Want the deals? Luscious. Already come regularly? Look hard at HUSH.
Where does my $150 HUSH payment actually go?
Into your Lush account.
Why are Lush promotions only available to members?
Because we would rather reward loyalty than permanently discount everything for everybody.
Before school starts, fix the basics.
Back-to-school health tends to get marketed as vitamins and immune boosters.
The less exciting things still matter more: sleep, nutrition, movement, routine, preventive care and keeping up with recommended health needs.
